Invalid project package in eclipse - having 2nd git repository
I have to work on a project which has been previously developed in a different team. The project needs a few changes, and I want to give the changes back to the previous team and ask them to incorporate them to the project.
I cloned the repository from the previous team (for development purposes) and made all the changes. However, when I try to update the project, I get the following error:
Project contains an invalid project package
I'm in Team->Team dialog, and the project has been set to work with git. I have no idea why I'm getting this message, and I really need some help.

Basically, you are trying to use an older version of the project. Eclipse will not upgrade the project version to the latest one if it is an older version than the one you are currently using. In the case of an older version and a newer version, the best thing to do is to get a newer version of the project and overwrite the old project (overwrite = import new project into a new location in the workspace).
Eclipse will still be aware of the old project, so you can right-click it and select Team > Open and Overwrite or Import Projects and select Overwrite to overwrite.
